Securely connect Zoom with KiteSuite to manage Zoom meetings directly from the KiteSuite application.

1. Overview

The KiteSuite Zoom Integration allows users to securely connect their Zoom account with KiteSuite to manage Zoom meetings directly from the KiteSuite platform. This integration uses Zoom OAuth 2.0 and follows Zoom Marketplace security and privacy guidelines.

The integration enables users to:

  • Connect and disconnect their Zoom account

  • Create Zoom meetings from KiteSuite

  • Update existing Zoom meetings created via KiteSuite

  • View Zoom meeting details inside KiteSuite

Note: KiteSuite does not access or store Zoom meeting audio, video, chat messages, or recordings.

2. Prerequisites

Before using the Zoom integration, ensure that:

  • You have an active KiteSuite account

  • You have a valid Zoom account

  • You have permission to authorize third-party apps in Zoom

3. How to Add (Authorize) the Zoom Integration

Step-by-Step Authorization

  1. Log in to your KiteSuite account

  2. Navigate to Integrations → Zoom

  3. Click Connect Zoom Account

  4. You will be redirected to Zoom’s secure OAuth authorization page

  5. Review the requested permissions (scopes)

  6. Click Authorize to grant access

  7. After successful authorization, you will be redirected back to KiteSuite

Once connected, your Zoom account status will show as Connected in KiteSuite.

4. Zoom Permissions (Scopes) Used

KiteSuite requests only the minimum required Zoom API scopes:

  • user:read
    Used to identify the authenticated Zoom user and associate the Zoom account with KiteSuite.

  • meeting:write
    Used to create Zoom meetings from KiteSuite.

  • meeting:update
    Used to update Zoom meeting details such as date, time, and topic when changes are made in KiteSuite.

  • meeting:delete
    This scope is used to delete Zoom meetings when a user removes a meeting

  • from within KiteSuite

KiteSuite does not request access to Zoom recordings, chat content, audio, or video.

5. Creating a Zoom Meeting from KiteSuite

  1. Log in to KiteSuite

  2. Navigate to the Meetings section

  3. Click Create Meeting

  4. Select Zoom as the meeting platform

  5. Enter meeting details (title, date, time, participants)

  6. Save the meeting

KiteSuite will create the meeting in Zoom and display the Zoom meeting link and details in the KiteSuite interface.

6. Updating a Zoom Meeting

If a Zoom meeting was created using KiteSuite:

  1. Open the meeting in KiteSuite

  2. Modify meeting details (time, title, etc.)

  3. Save changes

The updated information will automatically sync with Zoom using the authorized connection.

7. Viewing Zoom Meetings in KiteSuite

  • Zoom meetings created via KiteSuite are visible in the KiteSuite meetings

  • Users can view meeting metadata such as:

    • Meeting topic

    • Date and time

    • Zoom join link

KiteSuite only displays meeting metadata provided by Zoom APIs.

8. Delete Zoom Meetings from KiteSuite

KiteSuite allows users to delete Zoom meetings with full synchronization between KiteSuite and Zoom.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Meetings module in KiteSuite

  2. Select the Zoom-linked meeting you want to delete

  3. Click Delete Meeting

  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted

Behavior

  • The meeting is permanently deleted from KiteSuite

  • The corresponding meeting is deleted from Zoom using Zoom APIs

  • The meeting will no longer appear in:

    • KiteSuite

    • Zoom Web Portal

    • Zoom client

Important Notes

  • This action cannot be undone
    ​​

  • Only meetings created or managed via KiteSuite can be deleted

  • Requires Zoom scope:
    meeting:delete:meeting

8. Removing (Disconnecting) the Zoom Integration

Disconnect from KiteSuite

  1. Log in to KiteSuite

  2. Go to Integrations → Zoom

  3. Click Disconnect Zoom Account

  4. Confirm the action

This will revoke KiteSuite’s access to your Zoom account.

Disconnect from Zoom

You may also revoke access directly from Zoom:

  1. Log in to your Zoom account

  2. Go to App Marketplace → Manage → Installed Apps

  3. Select KiteSuite

  4. Click Remove

9. Data Handling & Privacy

KiteSuite stores Zoom access tokens securely in encrypted form

Tokens are used only for authorized API operations

No Zoom meeting content (audio, video, chat, recordings) is accessed or stored

Data is used strictly to provide integration functionality

Issue: Authorization fails

  • Ensure you are logged into a valid Zoom account

  • Confirm that you approved all requested permissions

Issue: Meetings not syncing

  • Verify Zoom account is still connected

  • Reconnect the integration if needed
